Dear Northwest Families,

As we move into spring, this season is traditionally the time of year in which we have state testing. As some of our scholar are attending virtually, the Ohio Department of Education is requiring all virtual scholars to return to the building for their testing days and times. Linked above are details behind the days and times in which we are testing. While we have already started to bring virtual scholars into the building to become acclimated to the testing environment, I wanted to take a quick minute to identify items to remember when bringing scholars to the campus.

Materials to Bring:

  • Chrome book (fully charged)
  • Charger for the Chrome book
  • Pencils
  • Water Bottle

Since the state only gives a small testing window for these assessments to occur, please try to schedule other appointments, such as doctor appointments for other times, so this does not conflict with testing days and times. Located below is a chart that identifies which grade level is assessed in which academic content area.

  3rd Grade 4th Grade 5th Grade 6th Grade 7th Grade 8th Grade
English

Mathematics   X X X X X X
Science X X

Additionally, when scholars have concluded their testing, they will call home and return to the testing classroom until parents or a guardian comes to sign the scholar out for the remainder of the day. Please ensure we have the accurate phone number on file so we can communicate as necessary.   As always, if you have any questions, please contact me at 216-226-6800.

Thank you and have a fantastic day,

Mrs. Dykstra

Principal of Northwest Academy
